- About this artical
The title of the article I chose is “An Internet of old things”. In this article, the author conveys to us that human beings give historical significance to objects, but in the current social environment, people tend to ignore historical significance and pay more attention to future development, the author express criticism of this phenomenon. At the same time, it shows a positive attitude to the development of “Internet of old things”. Rememberme project is introduced in the article. In this project, people customize special labels for some items, and people can scan the QR code on the label to know the story behind the item. By doing so, the store sold some items that were difficult to sell.
- My thoughts
I think such a “memory economy” greatly adds value to an ordinary or even second-hand item, and people will be willing to pay for this emotional thing. What I thought after reading this article is “how to make an emotional design?”. Of course the final output and future development of a product are important, but if the story behind it is also fantastic enough, the value of this item will be greatly improved. Doing emotional design is something that designers need to focus on in the future.
